An Interesting night in Mississauga
While driving down to Port Credit Memorial Park all that we could talk about was how long it had been since we had last seen Bedouin Soundclash(back in 2008 @ The Sound Academy). Bedouin was the headliner for the opening night of the Mississauga Waterfront Music Festival.
Days before the show we were contacted and told that we were going to have media for the event which made the night even more exciting for us. When we arrived at the gate we were informed that our media package was misplaced... yes of course that would happen to us
! After 10 minutes of sheer confusion we were given wrist bands to enter the show. We headed back stage just as Bedouin started their set. The crowd sang along to "When The Night Feels My Song" at the top of their lungs! It was also one of the band members birthdays so Jay and the entire crowd sang Happy Birthday in unison. After the show ended, we decided it was time to go shortly after a woman approached us asking who exactly we were and how we had gained backstage access. We found that the event was poorly organized and due to lack of communication between the staff it seemed as thought no one knew what was going on. This made the show hard to cover because we were stationary to the side of the stage. None the less seeing Bedouin play was amazing and we hope that they come back to Toronto soon! As for the Waterfront Music Festival, we aren't sure we will be returning.
