THE ARKELLS!

BURLINGTON SOUND OF MUSIC FESTIVAL

The Arkells
Thursday June 14th 2012
Marlee and I took HWY 401 to make our way over to Burlington for the best FREE music festival in Ontario. As we arrived we started to get excited as we remembered the BSoMF 2011. The entire city is feeling the music, and those are feelings you can't exactly put into words. We stopped by the media tent to pick up our passes and meet with some of the awesome people behind the Burlington Sound Of Music Festival! Shout out to everyone who is on the BSOMF team for a festival well done. It is unbelievably organized and well planned. We arrived in time to catch a band Marlee and I have never seen before: Born Ruffians, and we were so happy we caught their set because they were totally killer. We will definitely be checking them out again this summer, so thank you Sound Of Music Fest. for introducing us to yet another great band. Shortly after their set finished the grounds really filled up with excited Arkells Fans. The Arkells have just wrapped up a North American tour with The Maine & Lydia. Marlee and I had the pleasure of seeing this tour in Toronto minus The Arkells. The guys have been out of Canada for so long that you could really feel their excitement to be back at home. The crowd really fed off their energy, everyone who was there was singing at the top of their lungs with their dancing shoes on. It was our first time seeing them and we were beyond excited about it as we are both literally obsessed with the album Michigan Left. Let me tell ya'll they did not disappoint one bit. They were so incredibly tight, and let me say there is nothing like going to a concert where the band is BETTER live than on their album. That my friends is that's exactly what the Arkells did. They were real, energetic and did a ton of interacting with the crowd. It was literally one of the best festivals sets I have seen in a long time.
These guys deserve MAD shout outs for being such an amazing band.
  • Max Kerman – Vocals & Guitar
  • Mike DeAngelis –  Vocals & Guitar
  • Dan Griffin/Anthony Carone – Vocals & Keyboard, Guitar
  • Nick Dika –  Bass
  • Tim Oxford – Drums & Percussion
Make sure you keep up to date on these guys because I can just feel the success that they are going to fall in.

ALSO, huge shout out / thank you to Burlington Sound Of Music Festival for working with for the second year in a row. We really love the idea of the festival, the fact that it is free is unheard of these days. It really is a great way to spend time with family and friends over the Fathers Day weekend.

Keep checking back for more photo's from the night, they are currently in editing!
